I am saddened to report that the polls have closed and that I have come up short in my campaign to be the Democratic nominee for the 84th House District. While this is not the result that any of my volunteers, friends, or family wanted I am proud of the campaign that was run. We knocked thousands of doors and made thousands of phone calls. We talked with residents of the district that had not been contacted by a candidate in a dozen years or more by their reckoning.
The loss of this campaign will not stop me from working for a more just and equitable city, state, and country. I will continue my pro bono legal work. I will continue raising money for Democratic and progressive candidates. I will continue participating in local government and community organizations.
The end of a campaign doesn’t mean the end of caring about your neighbors and about your community. Congratulations to my opponent, Wiley Price IV. I hope that you serve the district with honor and distinction in Jefferson City.
